In general, I try to appreciate the complexities, the journeys, the endless wondering, finding, and changing that comes with everyday. My creative processes are no different. Growing up in the mountains, I developed an endless thirst for exploring. I hope to carry it with me through all the work I create and as I approach the greater world around me.
I graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2021 with a degree in “Design Theory” from NYU’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study. Essentially, my concentration was in "trends" and asks why we are attracted to certain aesthetics as a result of our social, cultural, political atmospheres. From themes in fashion movements to music and pop culture, these concepts drive my writing. Through deeply investigating culture trends within time and place, I have learned to take an approach of soft curiosity, generous empathy, and optimism for a world driven by positive change. The goal of my visual work is to serve as a reminder of the constant source of hope and positivity that exists within all of us. I believe that even through the darkest times there is, somewhere, endless beauty. This world both confuses and intrigues me. It disturbs and excites me. It knocks me down and builds me up. All of my creative work is fueled by these eternal curiosities. |
